deleted a bunch of chronic pain and chronic illness posts from blogs they’ve left (like mine)
This isn’t just about ‘oh no you can’t look at people fucking anymore’ (even though lots of sex workers are losing their means of supporting themselves). This goes a lot further, with a lot more chilling effects.
The sexualizing of things like ‘top surgery’ or declaring all ‘trans’ tagged things to be … sexual… is really, REALLY fucked up. Never mind the fact that ‘chronic pain’ had NOTHING to do with sexiness, and we’ve been given no explanation as to why disabled people were considered acceptable collateral damage.
ALSO I had a post flagged earlier today for a cartoon picture of Mario in a bathing suit. Mario, from Super Mario Brothers.
Someone else reported a picture of a cartoon scorpion with a hard hat on being flagged as pornography. Tagging things as ‘queer’ or ‘gay’ gets them flagged NSFW. (Hey, guess what I’d been tagging my t-shirts, because they’re pride stuff? Oh right. Queer. Gay. Pride.)
This is a fucking problem, let’s not blow it off.
WTF???
Yet go search “white supremacy”. Those blogs are all not only accessible, but painfully easy to find. All nice and curated, even.
Guys, I know we’re all trying to find a way to keep Tumblr accessible for us despite Tumblr blatantly not wanting us around anymore, but look at the facts here. Look at who Tumblr is erasing versus who they’re protecting. Tumblr, like a bunch of platforms before it, is unapologetically siding with actual Nazis while making the marginalized disappear under the excuse of “NSFW”.
This isn’t a matter of “Well, maybe we can still make it work.” I hate to sound melodramatic, but Tumblr has declared war on us. We can’t stay here.
Red means stop. No more negotiation, something has crossed a line (too painful, something bad that wasn’t negotiated, etc.)
Yellow means that you need a break or that something is too much, or that if the top continues then you’re going to “red” soon.
Green means that things are going well and you want to continue if not ramp it up a little.
While a bottom might blurt out red or yellow, I’ve never seen a bottom volunteer “green”. It’s usually said in answer to when a top is checking in to make sure everything is okay. Asking “How are you?” and getting an answer of “fine” or “okay” might mean the bottom is just on autopilot and reflexively answering. Asking “What’s your color?” and getting “green” or “I was very close to yellow when you stopped” is much better.
One of my favorite doms to watch at parties was doing a pre-scene negotiation with someone he hadn’t played with before and said something like “Now, just between you and me here 😉 , my favorite color is yellow. It’s not about taking anything I can dish out. I promise you, I can always go harder. I want to know how you’re doing. I’ll likely yellow you, on purpose, a few times, just to find out where your limits are and then aim for a little below that. I don’t want to hear ‘green green green, green green red’ because then the scene’s over. I want some indication of how you’re doing and when you’re getting close to what you can handle, okay?”
And then, whenever she yellowed, he praised her. And why wouldn’t he?? She gave him vital information that allowed the both of them to have more fun!
Damn, this is good!
I add a 4th color: blue, which I describe as like a green light but the car behind you is honking its horn.
Interesting! So this is kind of like an “I’m stuck! Shove me!” type of thing, @quixylvre, or does it mean “Green but you’re pushing too impatiently!”?
We all have seen the Tumblr communicate about forbidding nsfw blogs or those which have “adult” posts.
They think it won’t cause them any harm, but we are a really big part of the community. Let’s act and tell the staff that tumblr will slowly die after taking this decision. Follow these steps:
First of all, REBLOG THIS POST, so any NSFW blog can post and see it.
Give tumblr the worst mark at the App Store or Play Store
Write a negative comment about how they’re banning accounts and censoring the freedom of expression.
Purpose as a comment below a new site to move as a NSFW community.
If you do this before the 17 of December, we can change this decision. Let’s make the staff hear us. Make tumblr great again, a free place for free minds and free content!!
Personally, I enjoyed every single moment here at tumblr, and I appreciate everyone of my followers and blogs that I follow. If they delete my account… It was a pleasure to know you all. But we can still change this!!!
To everybody who has followed, reblogged, and supported myself, artists, and anybody else who posted on this platform i wish you all the best and thank you for your support.
Thanks to Tumblrs nee guidlines i will stop blogging on this site ( due to adult content )
I hope everyone finds joy and themselves in the future of blogging, love you all!!

tell us if you decide to migrate to a new site eh?
As I’m sure you’ve all seen, Tumblr’s given all NSFW two weeks to abandon ship. I’m sad, mad and not at all surprised.
Ever since Yahoo sold Tumblr I’ve been quietly preparing for this over the last year. So while it’ll involve a bit of effort for us all, let’s see this as a new opportunity to spread the edging message!
Thanks for all the many messages of support and concern, I love you all.
Here’s the plan
The big change I made in preparation for this is that I control the domain for this blog – edging.space and while it currently redirects to Tumblr, by 17th December it’ll be a WordPress blog and be the main place I continue to post my content.
I’ll be importing lots of my old posts in there too, and putting them in a bit more of a useful structure. As to how much actual porn I can get in there, it’ll depend on the host but my writing will live on!
As far as I can see Tumblr will be hiding my posts with boobs and bits in (according to this https://tumblr.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/231885248-Adult-content) but the actual blog will still remain (for now) so this isn’t going to disappear. Unless having the word ‘orgasm’ in the title offends the Tumblr gods, yeah okay, that might happen.
I’m also going to create a Discord Server for us all to join and become one happy, edging, community. It might be that other social media options emerge as I do a bit more research this week but Discord is the obvious NSFW friendly one for now. Watch this space
Want to continue to read my content…
Follow my Edging Space Twitter as a new social media communication channel: https://twitter.com/edgingspace that’ll be my back up way of getting in contact and I’ll start posting there regularly
Bookmark my blog url – edging.space and start visiting it directly
FOLLOW this blog if you don’t already. I know that sounds counter intuitive but I’d guess you may not be able to follow NSFW blogs once this shit kicks off, and it might be the only way you can view it if you’ve followed it before.
Reblog the shit out of this post and watch this space for more info
Keep on edging and do not despair. This is the start of something wonderful.
Help wanted
1. If we set up a Discord server that’s a lot of work, if you have experience being a community mod, especially of a Discord server, and would like to help, message me.
2. I’m pretty competent with WordPress but if any of you are a wizard with it (especially getting a theme customised and structure working) and might lend a hand getting the site up and running in the short time we have, that’d be most appreciated. Again, message me. Ta very much.
